My Dad's a Past Master of his lodge, so I asked him if there was significance to Free Masons meeting above a slaughter house. He said "Traditionally meetings are on the upper floors of a building to thwart cowans and eavesdroppers. There's no relevance to it being a slaughter house that I know of."
