Dedication, November 4, 2006

This exhibition is dedicated to Jim Binder, my uncle. He served in the Peace Corps under President Kennedy. Uncle Jim was in the first group of volunteers to go to Africa. He served in Ethiopia. His social activism, including supporting Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez, continues to this day.
I would to also honor Kevin Tillman who served in the military as an army ranger. I believe Mr. Tillman and my uncle Jim have had two diverse paths that they have traveled but at some point have crossed in their concerns for this country and humanity in general.
